Learn Sidemount Diving in Malta
Dive into the future of underwater exploration with the TDI Sidemount Diver Course, where we delve deep into the intricacies of sidemount diving and equip you with a comprehensive set of skills to conquer the underwater world. This course is led by me personally, Toby Van Pooss. I go beyond the ordinary, covering essential aspects such as gas management with independent cylinders, equipment considerations, regulator and BCD/harness options, and proper weighting.
In the TDI Sidemount Diver Course, you'll not only learn to communicate effectively with your dive buddy through hand signals but also master problem-solving skills, gas-sharing techniques, and dealing with gas hemorrhages. Our expert guidance will make water entries, whether from the shore or a boat, second nature to you. You'll also become proficient in S-Drills tailored specifically to sidemount diving.
It doesn't stop there. During the TDI Sidemount Diver course you'll be put to the test, demonstrating your ability to plan a dive meticulously, test and check all your equipment including depth gauges, bottom timers/watches, and computers. Your familiarity with the dive area will ensure you're ready to explore it to its fullest. As you descend to your planned depth, you'll showcase your prowess in safely managing gas within independent cylinders, monitoring depth, time, and air consumption, all while maintaining precision and accuracy.
ONLINE LEARNING
Prior to joining us in Gozo, Malta for your course, you are required to finish the online study component of the course.
INWater Skills
The inwater skills dives are completed in sheltered areas to allow you to build skills introduced by your Toby in small steps.
Open Water dives
Once you can repeat the skills in a relaxed way, Toby will take you diving and complete the certifiying dives of the course!
TDI Sidemount Diver Course in Malta & Gozo
During the TDI Sidemount Diver Course, you will learn sidemount specific pre-dive checks, equipment setup and techniques and gas management planning. The course covers no-decompression dive planning, including gas requirements, gas switching, and safety stops.
To earn this sought-after certification, you'll need to meet some minimum requirements. This includes performing all land drills and open water dive tasks safely and efficiently, demonstrating your mature and sound judgment in dive planning and execution, and diligently logging all your dives.
Once you've earned your certification, you'll gain the freedom to explore sidemount diving activities without the need for direct supervision, subject to a few essential guidelines. You can enjoy the flexibility of planning your dives within your current certification level, all while ensuring safety stops are incorporated into your underwater excursions.
