The TDI Helitrox Rebreather Diver course is an advanced level certification designed for experienced rebreather divers looking to develop their rebreather for mixed gas helitrox diving.
The TDI CCR Helitrox Diver course is an advanced-level certification course that aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of experienced rebreather divers interested in mixed gas Helitrox diving. This course is the second level of certification in the TDI CCR curriculum, designed to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures of diving with a Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) using a Helitrox Diluent.
Learn Helitrox Rebreather in Malta
The primary objective of this course is to provide divers with comprehensive training and development of their CCR diving skills up to a maximum depth of 45 meters/150 feet, utilizing an air/nitrox/helium diluent for formal decompression diving. During the course, students will learn advanced CCR diving skills, including the use of a diluent and bailout mix with no greater than a 35% helium content and no less than a 21% oxygen content. Additionally, students are permitted to use up to 100% oxygen for decompression.
This course covers essential topics such as dive planning, emergency procedures, buoyancy control, and decompression procedures with a focus on the use of Helitrox Diluent. Students will also learn to calculate gas requirements, analyze and blend gases, conduct decompression stops, and develop an in-depth understan
The TDI CCR Helitrox Diver course places emphasis on practical training with multiple training dives, providing students with hands-on experience and confidence in their ability to handle complex dive scenarios. Moreover, students will learn advanced skills and techniques for technical diving with a CCR, including using multiple gas mixtures for different phases of the dive, conducting long and deep dives, and advanced equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
ONLINE LEARNING
Prior to joining us in Gozo, Malta for your course, you are required to finish the online study component of the course.
INWater Skills
The inwater skills dives are completed in sheltered areas to allow you to build skills introduced by your Toby in small steps.
Open Water dives
Once you can repeat the skills in a relaxed way, Toby will take you diving and complete the certifiying dives of the course!
TDI Rebreather Helitrox Diver Course in Malta & Gozo
The TDI Helitrox Rebreather Diver course in Malta and Gozo requires students to complete open water dives within the course limits of 9-45 metres. They must complete two dives deeper than 20 metres and two dives deeper than 35 metres, with a PO2 not exceeding the manufacturer recommendation or a working limit of 1.3 bar. Safety stops must be conducted for a minimum of 3 minutes at 6 metres, and all off-board gas must be calculated at 45.3 litres per minute to cover stress situations.
The student is only certified for Helitrox decompression diving on the specific CCR unit, and they must perform one bailout from depth on open circuit to include simulated decompression. Additionally, if the student chooses to use an automatic diluent valve fitted by the manufacturer, they must emphasize regular diluent gauge monitoring and addition control.
Upon completion of the TDI CCR Helitrox Diver course in Malta and Gozo can engage in decompression diving activities using a CCR without supervision as long as the diving activities, areas of activities, and environmental conditions approximate those of training. Additionally, graduates can enroll in the TDI Mixed Gas CCR unit specific course and the TDI Advanced Wreck Course.
