The RAID Normoxic Trimix Rebreather qualifies you to use diluent with 18 percent oxygen and limits the maximum diving depth to 60 meters (200 feet).
The RAID Normoxic Trimix Rebreather Diver course involves using a gas mixture of oxygen, nitrogen, and helium. The use of these gas blends allows divers to explore deeper depths than what is possible with traditional air or nitrox mixes. The addition of helium to the gas mix reduces the narcotic effect of the gas. Normoxic Trimix is an advanced technical program that requires a diver to have a high level of experience. Used for technical diving, deep diving, and cave diving, where you may need to spend extended periods at great depths, and safety margins are critical.
The RAID Normoxic Trimix Rebreather diver course is designed for those divers who are interested in exploring wrecks, deep caves, or other underwater environments that require extended bottom times at greater depths. If this is you, then Normoxic Trimix diving could be for you. However, Normoxic Trimix diving requires additional specialised equipment, and it should only be attempted by divers certified as a RAID Limited Trimix Rebreather Diver or equivalent. You must have logged a minimum of 50 hours using a CCR with at least 25 dives and 25 hours on the specific unit to be used on this course, and must show experience of a minimum of 20 dives deeper than 30 meters and at least 10 dives that required staged decompression.
Gozo is a popular destination for rebreather diver training as it offers a variety of dive sites suitable for different depth ranges required for the course. Some of the dive sites in Gozo that are ideal for Normoxic Trimix Rebreather depth dives include Blue Hole and The Chimney located in the Dwejra area, are popular for their unique underwater topography and offer depths of up to 60 meters. The Billinghurst Cave system, located off the coast of Gozo, offers a dive for experienced technical divers, with depths of up to 80 meters. Lantern Point is located on the north coast of Gozo, offers a series of caves and swim-throughs at depths of up to 60 meters

Before working with Toby, I'd never dived. Now I confidently dive 40m wreck on nitrox. I owe that entirely to his teaching, encouragement and (in no small measure) his patience. Both in and out of the water, his instruction and professionalism dispelled any anxieties I had and ensured I felt safe throughout.
