RAID HYPOXIC TRIMIX CCR DIVER IN GOZO & MALTA

The RAID Hypoxic Trimix Rebreather qualifies you to use diluent with less than 18 percent oxygen and limits the maximum diving depth to 100 meters (330 feet).

The RAID Hypoxic Trimix Rebreather course is the latest addition to RAID's updated list of rebreather programs, designed to align with the latest industry guidelines for safety and logical progression. This advanced CCR program is considered the ultimate achievement in recreational open water diving, allowing divers to push the limits of technical diving.

Hypoxic Trimix Rebreather in Malta

The RAID Hypoxic Trimix Rebreather course represents a significant advancement in the training of rebreather divers, as it completes RAID's update of all its rebreather programs to conform to the latest industry standards, making them safer and more efficient. This program is considered the ultimate in recreational open water diving, where divers can explore the limits of technical diving.

The course is designed for experienced rebreather divers who have completed decompression dives in previous RAID courses. However, diving to depths of 100 meters (330 feet) on diluent gas with less than 18% oxygen requires meticulous planning and execution, as even a few extra minutes at depth can result in significantly longer ascent times.

The certification for this program is offered in two levels, depending on the environment and student preference. The Limited Hypoxic Trimix card is awarded when the course dives were to a maximum depth of 80 meters (262 feet), while Hypoxic Trimix certification is earned when course dives reach the full 100-meter (330 feet) limit. The program provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to dive safely and efficiently on a rebreather, using hypoxic trimix as a diluent gas at depths up to 100 meters.

RAID Hypoxic Trimix CCR in Gozo

To enroll in the RAID Hypoxic Trimix Rebreather course, students must meet the following prerequisites: they must be at least 18 years of age at the start of training, have a RAID Normoxic Trimix Rebreather Diver certification, be certified and current in RAID Rescue Breathing/CPR/BLS Training and Oxygen Provider, have a minimum of 100 hours of CCR diving, at least 50 of which must have been using the specific CCR being trained on. Additionally, they must have completed 30 dives deeper than 30 meters / 100 feet, 10 dives deeper than 50 meters / 165 feet, and at least 20 dives that required staged decompression. Finally, they must submit a dive medical passed by a certified diving physician.

The RAID Hypoxic Trimix Diver course requires a minimum of seven in-water sessions, with a total in-water time of 420 minutes. The course includes both confined water and open water sessions. The confined water session or the skills update dive should be done in open water, up to a maximum depth of 40m/130ft. There must be a minimum of six open water dives, totaling at least 340 minutes of underwater training. For all dives deeper than 40m/130ft, an appropriate trimix diluent must be used, and depths should be increased incrementally. At least two dives must be deeper than 75 meters / 245 feet, of which one open water dive should be made to at least 90m/300ft (70m/230ft for 80m/260ft certification). It is not possible to have more than two in-water sessions per day or more than one open water dive per day if any of those dives require more than 45 minutes of mandatory decompression stops.

The RAID Hypoxic Trimix Diver course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experience to safely explore the limits of technical diving. Students will benefit from learning how to plan and execute complex dives at depths of up to 100m/330ft while using trimix diluent with less than 18 percent oxygen. The course will help students develop a deep understanding of dive planning, risk management, and emergency procedures. Additionally, students will learn how to use advanced diving equipment and technologies, including rebreathers and dive computers. Finally, completing the RAID Hypoxic Trimix Diver course will open up a new world of diving opportunities, allowing students to explore deep wrecks, caves, and other underwater environments that were previously inaccessible.

Before working with Toby, I'd never dived. Now I confidently dive 40m wreck on nitrox. I owe that entirely to his teaching, encouragement and (in no small measure) his patience. Both in and out of the water, his instruction and professionalism dispelled any anxieties I had and ensured I felt safe throughout.
